From 2009 through 2012, I was a founding member of an exciting group of engineers and artists called Syyn Labs.  We’re probably best known for helping OK Go build a ridiculously awesome music video called This Too Shall Pass. If you haven’t seen it, go ahead and watch it here:
Of course, we did a lot more than make Rube Goldberg Machines. We’ve got a great sample reel of the stuff we’ve made.

One of our other fun projects was a Die Hard commercial featuring Gary Numan playing “Cars” on our keyboard made of 24 cars. Check it out:
Unfortunately, some bad management decisions caused most of the core group, myself included, to part ways with Syyn Labs. Â Brent Bushnell, Eric Gradman, Hector Alvarez and I formed a new company called Two Bit Circus. The company is still technically around, but it’s little more than a poorly updated vanity website for the guy who “runs” Syyn Labs now. It’s a bit of a shame how badly things were handled internally. Of course, there are two sides to every story. But, I think the fossilized website, boasting of projects years in the past, all done by crew members long gone, really tells the whole story.
